Controversy follows Alyssa Milano wherever she goes. This time, she faced backlash over her crochet mask. Upon posting a picture, Twitter went berserk against her and called her stupid for using a mask with so many holes. Some of the people criticizing her were James Woods and Donald Trump Jr. too. However, Milano had a proper defense for her mask. Here’s what happened!

Outrage over Milano’s crochet mask

It all started with a supposedly harmless tweet. The star from Charmed tweeted a picture of her family and herself wearing masks. However, it wasn’t her family or her car or her husband that caught everyone’s attention – it was Alyssa Milano’s crochet mask. She tweeted:

Show me your masks! Masks keep people safe and healthy. Show me yours! Ready? Go! #WearAMask

Here’s Milano’s tweet:

When people saw Alyssa Milano’s crochet mask, trolls lost their minds. A lot of the people started to criticize her for her choice of mask, as it looked like it had a lot of holes in it. However, one thing was common among the most famous replies – they were mostly Trump supporters. Here’s famous celebrity James Woods calling Milano out for her choice of mask, saying:

I’m not being sarcastic, and I know your concern is genuine and well intentioned. That said, a crocheted mask is about as effective as balsa wood battleship.

Other than that, even Donald Trump Jr. joined the bandwagon against Alyssa Milano:

It does look like a horrible mistake from Milano, however, she had a proper defense in line for her crochet mask.

She claps back at trolls

It does sound like it would have been hard for Alyssa Milano to come back from this. However, she then revealed the structure of the mask in a reply to her original tweet. She said:

A**holes, mask has a carbon filter in it. So, yes, it might be crochet but totally safe.

Milano then tweeted an Amazon link for a Carbon filter that made her mask safe for use as a COVID-19 mask. But, she was indeed quite affected by everyone’s outrage. She tweeted in one of her replies that “I don’t even know what to say anymore. Twitter is a dumpster fire,”. This shows that Milano was following the correct CDC guidelines for her mask. Therefore, all the fire she took from James Woods and Donald Trump Jr was pretty much pointless.
