It usually takes some of us a while to graduate from college. But there’s no need to be ashamed of it! I mean, even I took 5 years to graduate from mine. However, that pales into comparison with Bryce Dallas Howard. She finally graduated from NYU, 21 years after enrolling in ’99!

She took her time, but Bryce Dallas Howard finally graduated!

Graduation from college is a fine dream for a lot of us. I mean, it’s the perfect platform that gives us the opportunity to excel in our careers. However, some people achieve great success in their careers first and then decide to graduate. And Bryce Dallas Howard is one of them! After enrolling in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1999, she graduated after 21 years! Here’s what she said in her Instagram post:

I am so overcome with joy to share that I have officially graduated from NYU!! 💜 I first enrolled in undergrad in ’99, then took a leave of absence to start working as an actor, so this has been 21 years in the making!

Dallas Howard further mentions how formal education was a dream for her, and gave special regards to her graduating class of 2020. However, it was a bit sober since her dream of wearing purple robes, and throwing her graduation cap couldn’t be fulfilled.

It’s been a long dream of mine to complete my formal education and though all of us NYU grads couldn’t wear glorious purple robes together today, I want to say thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged all of us graduates every step of the way. To the class of 2020, WE MADE IT 🎉🎓 There’s a special letter to the class of 2020 and my fellow Nine Muses Lab graduates in my bio! #NYU2020

Here’s Dallas Howard’s Instagram post:

Her letter to NYU’s class of 2020

She mentioned the link to a letter in her bio, in which she addressed her class of 2020. Bryce Dallas Howard mentioned how she always intended to finish her college degree, despite her success in acting:

I fully intended on graduating one day. In fact, I continually deferred the following semester and the semesters after that, hoping that instead of ‘dropping out,’ I was simply taking a ‘leave of absence.’ Again, and again, and again.

Ever since she left NYU, Bryce Dallas Howard has had a remarkable acting career. She starred in Jurassic World, Spider-Man 3, The Village, Lady in Winter, and many other hits. However, her passion to study and teach didn’t subside. Dallas Howard enrolled part-time in an accredited university and transferred her credits to the NYU. There, she reached in the Nine Muses Entertainment Storytelling Lab, and wrote in her letter about her experience of teaching alongside graduation:

During these last few semesters of teaching I have thought many times, ‘Wow, it’s going to be such an amazing experience to graduate alongside so many of my students’

Even though Bryce Dallas Howard is a decade older than her students, it’s still an amazing feeling. Moreover, NYU also gave her her college sweetheart, Seth Gabel, with whom she’s married since 2006 and has two children. Now that she’s a college graduate, we hope that Dallas Howard finds some ease in finding a decent job. It’s really hard to do so in this economy for fresh college graduates!
