Turkish Soccer Player Admits to Killing 5-Year-Old Son
The world can be a scary place. Every day we come across a piece of news that shatters us to our core. Some are so unbelievable, you can’t imagine a human going through that. This news was just about the same when a Turkish soccer player made a confession.
Cevher Toktas, a soccer player for a Turkish team confessed to the murder of his five-year-old son, Kasim. Sends chills, doesn’t it?
So what happened? It was reported that Kasim was being treated for Coronavirus symptoms in the hospital. However, the five-year-old innocent child ended up testing negative.
CBS Sports reported Cevher confessed to smothering a pillow over his child’s face and holding it there until Kasim died.
“I held a pillow to his head and held it with force for 15 minutes without stopping. My son struggled for a while and when he stopped I removed the pillow,” the Turkish soccer player allegedly said, according to a Spanish publication.
He turned himself in on 4th May. This was 11 days after the incident had already occurred. Multiple reports also say the Turkish player tried to blame the death of his son on Covid-19. He allegedly called the doctors after smothering his son to death, claiming that his coronavirus symptoms had gotten worse. He admitted he only called them so they would not be suspicious. Kasim was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit but there was nothing that could’ve been done then. Kasim was declared dead soon after.
Why Did The Turkish Soccer Player Kill His Son?
Cevher reportedly gave his reasons for murdering his son. He admitted to never have loved him. Even when he was born. He said he can’t state a reason for that. He has no mental issues. But he just never loved his son.
According to the Spanish outlet, the Turkish player is looking at a life sentence for first-degree murder. Furthermore, the Turkish authorities have also ordered Kasim’s body to be exhumed.
