Ruby Rose Quits CW’s Batwoman After Epic Season 2
The 34-year-old Ruby Rose who was playing a leading role in the latest CW show, Batwoman, has decided to quit the series. In case you guys missed it, she made history back in the episode ‘How Queer Everything Is Today!’, when her character came out as gay. Although the series seemed to be taking off ever since introducing the first openly gay superhero to appear on a TV series, the star released a statement that she is choosing to depart from the role.
Grateful Ruby Rose Quits Batwoman Due To Medical Reasons?
Here is what the actress said when she announced her exit:
“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season. This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles.”
Ruby Rose, unfortunately, did not cite any reasons for quitting the Batwoman series. She continued to write:
“I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created. Thank you Peter Roth and Mark Pedowitz and the teams at Warner Bros. and The CW who put so much into the show and always believed in me. Thank you to everyone who made season one a success – I am truly grateful.”
Is it possible that Ruby Rose is quitting Batwoman because of medical reasons? The actress was previously rushed to emergency surgery on her neck’s two herniated discs after a stunt went wrong. Although the doctors saved her from severing her spinal cord, she decided to take a back seat on doing most of her stunts herself. She even told this to Variety saying, “I think I’ve earned my stripes already; I’ve done so many stunts in so many projects that I know have to relinquish the controls sometimes.”
