While we all know about how kids of stars follow in their parents’ footsteps, some celebrities might not even know their real parents. In Hollywood, it is a common practice to adopt and we know many celebrities who have given a home to many children. However, there are so many adopted celebrities we don’t know about.

List of adopted celebrities:

Here is a list of all the adopted celebrities who got a new home.

Jamie Foxx:

Although his birth parents were alive, Foxx was raised by his mother’s adoptive parents. Later on, they officially adopted him. Therefore, Jamie Foxx have not had much of a relationship with his birth parents.

Kristin Chenoweth:

Best known for her work in Pushing Daisies, Bewitched and The Pink Panther, Chenoweth was just five days old when her mother, whom she has never met, gave her up. Immediately after, Jerry and Julie Chenoweth adopted her and gave her a happy life. While talking about it, she said:

“Growing up, my parents explained my adoption by telling me, ‘We chose you.’ It was a wonderful way to put it to an adopted child.”

Steve Jobs:

Although he knew who his birth parents were, he never felt the need to meet them. Born to Syrian immigrants who were unmarried, Steve Jobs’ mother gave birth to him in secret. Shortly after, he was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. In his adult life, he formed a relationship with his biological sister but never with his parents.


Frances McDormand:

Among all the adopted celebrities, Frances McDormand has the most Academy Awards. At the age of one, she was adopted by a pastor and his nurse wife. Along with her, they adopted two other children and had no biological children of their own.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi:

Best known for Jersey Shore, Snooki prides herself on being an Italian. However, she was actually born in Chile and was adopted at six months by an Italian-American family. After some research about her birth family, she found out that she has ten brothers and sisters.


Michael Bay:

The director of blockbuster films like Transformer and Pearl Harbor, Michael Bay spend the first two weeks of his life in an orphanage. However, he was adopted shortly after. At the age of five, he discovered this secret. As an adult, he finally tracked down his biological mother.

Faith Hill:

As an infant, the country music star was adopted by Edna and Ted Perry. Although they had two sons, they wanted a daughter. Despite her strong bond with her adoptive parents, Faith Hill admits that she did not seem to fit in at times. With the support of them, she did find her biological family and has a close relationship with her biological brother.
