The Office is a show that simply ages like fine wine. However, many new technological advancements have been made since the show ended. One of them is the office chat room, called Slack. Ever wondered how their conversations would look like over there? Well, you don’t have to anymore, because all 201 of The Office episodes are being recreated on Slack!

The Office, but on Slack

The best thing about the internet is that if anyone thinks of an idea, then there’s already someone working on it. And this time, it was the creative geniuses at MSCHF who came up with this brilliant idea.

They decided to recreate every episode of The Office, but over at Slack! They decided to make a live feed over at Slack, with each channel representing a different department of our favorite show. If you want to see what Michael Scott is saying, go to the “General” tab. Then, there’s the infamous “Party Planning”, “Sales”, “Corporate”, “Diversity”, “World’s Best Boss”, “Conference Room”, and “Pranks”. It really sounds like MSCHF really thought this through and designed all of this with a lot of love. But, airing all of The Office episodes comes with its drawbacks.

From time and again, some inappropriate messages might show up. After all, it is a live chat. However, MSCHF has moderators that look after any abusive trolls or spams, to keep the chat safe and NSFW. After all, it’s going to be a long journey before all The Office episodes finish. The chat only works during typical office hours, which is 9-5.

MSCHF – The geniuses behind this idea

We aren’t the only ones who might think that the show would have been completely different if it was shot in today’s times. Daniel Greenberg, who is the Head of Strategy at MSCHF, told The Verge:

Since ‘The Office’ aired, the nature of work and office culture has changed drastically, a lot of which is centered around the way we use technologies. This is a live experience by real people Mondays through Fridays, nine-to-five.

However, apart from recreating The Office episodes on Slack, the company also manages Zoom. Basically, they’re working fulltime in this pandemic. CEO Stewart Butterfield tweeted to his employees:

We have an incredible business that has been growing very quickly and that will continue to do so for many, many years to come. We provide a platform that is going to become even more useful to the world in the years to come.

This is indeed a brilliant idea that deserves appreciation. The Office episodes recreated on Slack is something fans can enjoy during office hours. Who knows! If you want to join the channel, click this link!
