Dakota Johnson Talks About Her Struggles With Depression
In my opinion, Dakota Johnson is one of the best actresses we currently have in the industry. One movie of hers that I really like is How To Be Single. However, it’s difficult to think of her as anything less than perfect. She always looks happy and radiates joy and positivity. But it turns out, her life hasn’t been all that colorful.
In a newly published interview with Marie Claire, Dakota opened up about a lot of personal things. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress, posing as the ‘Summer 2020’ cover issue girl, talked about her struggles with depression since she was a teenager.
“I’ve struggled with depression since I was young—since I was 15 or 14,” she recalled. “That was when, with the help of professionals, I was like, Oh, this is a thing I can fall into.” However, she revealed she has learned to find the world beautiful. She admitted to having a lot of complexities but she says she doesn’t let them pour out or make them anyone else’s problems.
The 30-year-old star also revealed that her brain works at a million miles per minute. And she has to be in therapy a lot of times to make her brain work and purge her thoughts and emotions.
Dakota Johnson Talks About Anxiety
Dakota also opened up about her mental health back in 2015 in an interview with AnOther Magazine. She revealed she suffers from anxiety and often times finds it difficult to even think or do anything. She then proceeds to have a full on anxiety attack. She elaborated that it’s normal for her to have them all the time. But when she’s auditioning, it gets significantly worse.
Dakota also revealed how this pandemic is affecting her mental health. She is constantly staying up nights, unable to fall asleep, just thinking about the state the entire world is in right now. “My brain goes to crazy dark places with it,” Dakota revealed.
