Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time. I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels ♥️ 2020 okay bye thanks x
However, this Instagram post broke the internet. Not because Adele just turned 32 but because of all the weight she lost and the way she looked. It came as a surprise to the world. And soon enough, everyone on the internet could only talk about Adele’s transformation.
Many people showered her with compliments while also reminding her she looked beautiful before too. But of course, where there’s good, there’s also evil. A lot of people shamed her for her weight loss journey, expressing their disappointment in Adele. They claimed she only lost all her weight to fit societal standards. Which confuses me along with other people. The 32 year old singer would be fat shamed for not doing anything about her weight and now that she has taken all that negativity and sweat it out in the gym, some people still have a problem with that.
Adele’s Former Trainer Jumps To Her Defense
Adele’s former trainer, Pete Geracimo, jumped to her defense when he saw all the shaming that was happening. He expressed his disappointment at the reactions of people to her amazing weight loss journey and the way some people are questioning the genuineness of it. He then said, “In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms. She never undermined her God-given talent in any way. She let her incredible voice do the talking. Or should I say singing! She never once pretended to be something that she wasn’t. What you saw was what you got. And we all LOVED it!”

He revealed Adele only started doing this because she wanted to be healthy. Especially post pregnancy and post surgery. Not because she wanted to be skinny. He referred to her recent divorce with ex-husband, Simon Konecki, saying she wanted to better herself for only herself and her son. It’s normal for a person to want to do that when they go a huge personal change in their life. He ended with saying how Adele’s journey has nothing to do with anyone but herself and her family.
