Ever since the 2016 US Presidential Elections, comedians are having “field years” for reporting political news. After all, Donald Trump gives them a lot of comical content to write jokes on. Similarly, when Trump stormed out of the Rose Garden in his recent press briefing, it gave Stephen Colbert a chance to comment. The famous comedian and Late Show host said that Trump “lacks balls” and calls his storming out a hissy fit.
Donald Trump throws a hissy fit in the Rose Garden, Stephen Colbert says he “lacks balls”
It might be a common thing to occur in America right now, but Trump’s hissy fits in press briefings are always disappointing. That too especially in the midst of a global pandemic. This time Trump was having a press briefing in the Rose Garden when he absolutely lost it, again. Stephen Colbert had this to say about it:
Trump also threw a hissy fit after getting challenged by two female reporters, then took his lack of balls and went home.
Normally, this is something very strong to say about a sitting President. But, we’re living in Donald Trump’s America right now, so this is just regular Tuesday night news. When one of the young female reporters came on the mike, Trump verbally pushed her away saying “Next please”. What was his justification when the reporter said you quoted on me? This:
I did, and then you didn’t respond. And now I’m calling on the young lady in the back, please.
When the reporter insisted again, Trump just thanked everyone and left. Other than this awkward hissy fit, which was probably to avoid the media, Trump wasn’t having a field day with the reporters either.
Questions on Coronavirus testing and “Obamagate”
Earlier, he was asked why aren’t ordinary Americans gaining access to testing as easy as the White House staff. To this, Trump said:
And you know what, if we didn’t get the test, if we did no tests in the White House, you’d be up complaining why aren’t you getting tests for the White House? See, we can’t win because if we didn’t get the test you’d be up. I understand you very well, better than you understand yourself.
Yes, he ended the reporter’s questioning by claiming to know her better than she does herself. But, Donald Trump wasn’t done. When a reporter asked him what crime was he exactly accusing President Obama with, Trump replied that it’s Obamagate and it’s been going on for a long time. He didn’t answer specifically what former President Obama actually did, and said:
You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.
Trump can’t really end a question without any insults to the media, can he? And that gives Stephen Colbert all the more reason to say that he lacks balls. It’s one of the primary responsibilities of the President to answer questions, yet that seems to him the most difficult of tasks. Maybe Stephen Colbert does have a point. Here is a clip to his show:
