It’s always difficult to find out about anyone’s death, be it a loved one or a celebrity. Today, we found out that famous comedian Jerry Stiller passed away at the age of 92. Ben Stiller, his son, confirmed the news on Twitter, after which fans poured in with their tributes.

Ben Stiller, the famous actor, director, and comedian announced the news of his father Jerry Stiller’s passing in a tweet, saying:

I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.

Born in 1927, Stiller fought in the US Army during World War II, before marrying comedian Anne Meara in 1953. Therefore, the couple was able to take on comedy as a joint career, appearing together on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 60s.

However, his most famous work of all is definitely as Frank Costanza in the 90’s sitcom Seinfeld. He played the role of the cranky father to one of the lead characters, George Costanza, played by Jason Alexander. For this character, he received his only Emmy nomination throughout his career. Some of his dialogues, like “Serenity Now” are still strong in the memories of fans of the series around the world. But, this wasn’t Jerry Stiller’s only notable work throughout his career, as he has done other notable work too.

He was also famous for his role as Arthur Spooner in the TV series The Kings of Queens. Moreover, he delivered memorable performances alongside his son Ben Stiller in The Heartbreak Kid, Heavyweights, and Zoolander films. Therefore, there is no doubt that Jerry Stiller will be remembered very fondly among fans.
