“We all got tested. We’ve gotten the results back and everybody is okay, and so I hope we can get together this Mother’s Day and have dinner together — and I can actually touch them for real.”
Tina Knowles continued to express that Sundays have been the toughest. Sunday is when she gets together with her kids and grandkids. But, her Sunday shindigs haven’t been taking place because of social distancing.
About the campaign, #BeyGOOD
Beyoncé with mom Tina Knowles-Lawson, have launched a campaign in Houston to promote testing for coronavirus. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than twenty-eight percent of all coronavirus patients in the US are blacks and African Americans. So this has created panic in the community. And Beyoncé is doing her part to help them. Tina Knowles-Lawson explained in a press release for their campaign #IDIDMYPART that:
“The virus is wreaking havoc on the black community so we need a movement to prioritize our health. It is critical that we stay vigilant with social distancing, wearing a mask, and most of all getting tested. If you don’t get tested then you don’t know if you are a carrier of the virus.”
The campaign is a mobile testing facility. It brings staff from medical centers to administer a thousand tests free of cost. And they will also provide residents free testing kits. Along with all this, vitamins, household supplies, and essential protective equipment will also be handed out to local residents in Houston.
