Forty-six-year-old Heidi Klum is making the most of her teenage daughter’s milestone birthday. The proud mother posted a photo of her first child and shared it with her 7.3 million followers.

Leni turned sixteen this Monday. And her proud mom shared a throwback photo of the two and captioned it saying:

 ‘I am proud to be your Mom.’

The Throwback photo of Leni and mom Heidi

In the photo, the model is dolled up in a laced wedding gown and veil. Her hair is pulled into cornrow braids and she smiles at her daughter Leni. Leni who is five in the throwback photo is smiling and sticking her tongue out while her mom puts on a glittering bra on her daughter.

From the looks of it, it appears the photo is from the 2009 wedding anniversary of Heidi with her ex-husband, Seal. They hosted an anniversary party themed “White Trash.”

Heidi captioned the snap saying;

‘Happy sweet 16 Leni,’ accompanied by heart, flower, sun and dancing emojis. ‘My kind, loving, smart, funny, beautiful Leni.’

And Leni replied, ‘aww love you mama.’

The teenager also posted a photo of herself with mom. And casually captioned it, “16.”

Unfortunately, Leni’s milestone birthday was a home-based celebration. Because of the pandemic and also because Los Angeles is under lockdown till May 15. And so, all unessential business are closed and strict precautions and protocols of social distancing are being followed in LA.

Speaking to her People magazine in a joint interview with her co-host, Tim Gunn, Heidi said her daughter wants to follow in her mother’s modeling footsteps. She said:

‘The only one so far who wants to step in my footsteps is my oldest daughter, Leni. [But] I’ve never pushed [my kids] to do anything.’
