Disney’s Live-Action Adaptations of Animated Classics isn’t something new. From The Lion King to The Jungle Book and more, “The Mouse” will do whatever it takes to put out quality content on the big screen. Recently, it was announced that Hercules would be the latest classic to get a Live-Action feature. Shortly after, rumors started floating around the web regarding Ariana Grande’s involvement in the film in question.
But is there any truth to the rumors? Let’s find out!
Ariana Grande is a Fan of Hercules!
Not too long ago, the Victorious star performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)”. The song was featured in 1997’s Hercules movie and performed by Susan Egan (Meg, Hercules’ lady-love). But that’s not all!
The “thank u, next” singer also performed another song from the 1997 classic back in 2015. The song we are referring to is “Zero to Hero” and Ariana Grande sang it while participating in 2015’s Disneyland Park Christmas parade. She has also admitted being a big fan of the son of Zeus.
Will Ariana Grande Play Meg in the Upcoming Hercules Movie?
As we mentioned above, the Grammy winner performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” not too long ago. Her performance prompted fans to fantasize about the star actually playing Meg in the Live-Action Hercules film. Even Beauty and the Beast star Josh Gad wants this to happen! He told Variety,
She (Ariana Grande) would amazing as Meg, she would be perfect, I would love to see that happen.
As per Hollywood Life, a source who happens to be in contact with Grande herself revealed what the star actually thinks about the fan speculations. The source stated,
She is flattered that her fans think she can play Megara, but for now, it is too early, and nothing has been decided.
While it’s too early to confirm anything, at least Ariana Grande hasn’t ruled out the possibility of her taking up the role of Meg. It will be interesting to see how the final cast turns out to be.
