To say that Ryan Reynolds is one of the most lovable Hollywood stars would be an understatement. We will always respect how he helped bring the “real” Deadpool to the big screen. Now that it is up to the Marvel Studio to decide how the antihero franchise will proceed, Reynolds discussed a potential involvement in the MCU as well as how Ryan Reynolds feels about the whole Disney deal.
Will Deadpool Thrive in the MCU?
Last year’s Disney/Fox merger paved the way for the X-Men and Fantastic Four to appear in future MCU movies. However, one common concern many fans had was how the Merc with a Mouth would be portrayed in a kid-friendly setting.
However, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick assured everyone that the next Deadpool film will indeed be R-rated. That was relieving, right?
What Does Ryan Reynolds have to say about Deadpool in the MCU?
Firstly, it’s interesting to note that even though Deadpool 3 is under development as we speak, whether it will be a part of the MCU or not still remains a mystery.
While talking to Total Film Magazine (source: GamesRadar) about the same, Ryan Reynolds said that everything is so new and he doesn’t know if Wade Wilson will get to interact with his MCU buddies or not.
Reynolds said that at this point, he doesn’t consider himself an insider. He also said that how Deadpool 3 proceeds would answer a lot of relevant questions.
Speaking about his equation with Disney/Marvel, he said,
But I’m a huge fan of Marvel, and how they make movies. So when Disney bought Fox, I only saw that as a good thing. Deadpool hopefully being allowed to play in that sandbox, I think is just a win for everyone involved. But we’ll certainly see.
So, it looks like things are going forward pretty smoothly for now. We hope that we get to see Deadpool in the same shot as the likes of Spiderman, Starlord, etc.
