The hip-hop singer R. Kelly doesn’t like being in jail, even after his alleged actions. The 53-year-old is currently in Chicago prison on charges of sex trafficking, child pornography, and racketeering. His lawyers recently filed a third plea of his release from the containment, after having all previously denied. This time, however, Kelly’s lawyer claims that the Bureau of Prisons failed to disclose that he was a diabetic after his medical examinations. His lawyer also suggested that he has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Then again, R. Kelly’s previous pleads were also on grounds of medical basis. Would this one succeed?

 R. Kelly’ Previous Attempts To Skip Jail Time

R. Kelly might be in jail for serious crimes, but it seems like staying in prison proves to be a lot tougher than the crimes. It was back in March when the defendant presented an 18-page court filing that his life was at risk due to jail’s apparent lack of health & safety efforts. He was denied that bail, but he quickly filed a new motion. This time, Kelly claimed that since the threat of COVID-19 had grown after cases appearing from within the inmates, he requests a bail. He also argued that there was an ‘absolute probability’ that he may contract the sickness as well.

It was a few days back when R Kelly pleaded not guilty to knowingly exposing two people to herpes. This arraignment took place via telephone conference where several other sexual abuse charges opened up as well. On the defendant’s side, his lawyers pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

R. Kelly is currently in jail after the nine-court indictment that was filed on 12 March. There are nine claims of sexual abuse and racketeering. It also states that he exposed a minor female and an adult woman to herpes by engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse.
