Kim Jong-Un Dead? Hulu Adds The Interview In Top Picks After Rumors
Just hours after rumors erupted that the North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-Un is dead, Hulu made an interesting plan. They have put movie The Interview, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, in their Top Pick’s list on the streaming service. The satirical-humorous movie is a 2014 release taking place majorly in the isolated country of North Korea. This interesting move comes when much of the world is rushing to find the truth about this rumor. #KIMJONGUNISDEAD trended in the US, with several relevant trends replacing it afterward.
Kim Jong-Un Dead After Heart Surgery?
The news initially erupted just a week ago when CNN reported that the leader of North Korea Kim Jong-Un is brain dead following surgery. Later, guys at the TMZ investigated to conclude that the supreme leader died after a ‘heart’ surgery. Finally, the latest story is that a team of doctors from China has visited KJU to check up on his worsening health.
The Interview caught a lot of attention from North Korea during the time of its release. The country threatened the United States should Sony release the movie directed by Seth Rogen. After an attempt at hacking scandals, which the FBI claim belonged to N. Korea, Sony delayed the release of The Interview. However, even that was not acceptable for this hacking group, as after the movie release they started threatening for terrorist attacks. Sony then resorted to pulling the movie from cinemas and offering it a digital release since December 2014.
In the end, Sony still ended up gaining huge profits from the movie. This is mostly because of the political unrest North Korea caused which the whole world saw. Kim Jong-Un and his death rumor, now, has once again brought the movie to surface. After Hulu has put it up as its Top Pick, it seems like Sony will continue to gain profits.
