Jameela Jamil is Defending Interviewing Demi Lovato
Despite being friends with Taylor Swift The Good Place star interviewed Demi Lovato. After fans back-lashed Jameela Jamil’s interview, she is responding and defending herself.
While Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift are feuding for ages, Jameela Jamil has just joined in
In 2016, Demi Lovato called out Taylor Swift in a tweet when she donated money to pop-star, Ke$ha. Demi did not seem to be impressed with Swift’s generosity. Despite acknowledging that nothing positive came out of female feuds, Lovato admitted to not getting along with some. When Taylor Swift’s song, Bad Blood, indicated her feud with Katy Perry, Demi Lovato said:
“I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment. We all do things that aren’t, but I have to ask myself, ‘Am I content with calling myself a feminist?’ Yes, because I speak out.”
Despite Lovato’s open declaration of war, Taylor Swift has not said a word about their feud. On the other hand, we all know Swift has plenty of friends including Jameela Jamil. However, Jameela Jamil’s interview with Demi Lovato has sparked a conversation.
After Jameela Jamil’s interview got people talking, she defended herself on social media
For her podcast, I Weigh with Jameela Jamil, she invited Demi Lovato. During Jameela Jamil’s interview, they talked about Lovato’s rehab experience, body image, and Harry Potter. However, Taylor Swift’s fans objected to Jameela Jamil’s interview saying that she might be switching sides. When one Twitter follower said that she is best friends with Taylor Swift, Jameela Jamil replied:
I know and like all of these women separately. Their inter personal histories and relationships are not my fight/business. Not all humans have to get along. Not all women have to get along. It is not as black and white as the internet decides it is. Humans are very complicated.
Furthermore, she said:
I’m not being dragged into celebrity feuds. I’m 34 and not involved in any of these dynamics. I don’t care which of them dislike each other. I’m interviewing interesting humans sharing their unique mental health journeys that may help others to learn about.
