If there’s one thing we can all agree upon, it’s that mornings generally suck. You have to wake up and deal with human responsibilities and everything, and honestly, no one wants to. Unless you’re high on some good weed. Sadly, you can’t be high every day.

So luckily, for you, we found an alternative and found some ways that make waking up in the morning not so shitty.

1 Make Your Bed

Although it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, doing this will help you feel like you’re on top of your game. It’ll make you think you’re responsible and hardworking right after waking up (even though we all know you’re going to spend most of your time at work scrolling through Facebook) Plus if you have a nice bed made up, you wouldn’t want to jump back in, and your lazy ass will be forced to get to work.

2 Drink Water

Being hydrated is the new sexy folks! It boosts your metabolism, flush out pesky toxins and allow healthy bowel movement. Your kidneys will thank you for being so considerate after that night of heavy drinking.

3 Let Go Of Your Phone

So, what if someone posted last night’s funny pictures of their very drunk high school teacher or if a tortoise, is wearing a very cute little hat? Don’t use your phone in bed; it hampers the natural process of getting up like people in the olden times used to. Sure, they lived shorter lives but goddamn it they were always happy in the morning.

4 Stretch


Stretching gets the blood flowing to all the right places, hence reducing muscle tension and stiffness. It keeps you flexible, and what’s more? It feels awesome. So, don’t be lazy, shake what your mama gave you! Not too much though, you’ll break something you need when your crush finally says yes to you.

You may feel like you need those extra five minutes, but let’s get real. How much sleep can you get in those measly five minutes, which only makes you late for your morning appointments? Don’t hit snooze, move it and take charge of your life like Lindsay Lohan is desperately trying to do.

Sorry to break it to you coffee addicts, but drinking that sweet dark nectar of the gods is harmful for your body, especially in the morning when our body produces high levels of the stress-inducing hormone cortisol. Coffee lowers down those levels, making our body dependent on caffeine for support. The only support in the morning should be a puppy licking your face not those dangerous chemicals.
