Coronavirus Takes the Life of Bronx Rapper Frederick Thomas aka Fred the Godson

He relapsed again before showing signs of improvement.

Bronx rapper Frederick Thomas aka Fred the Godson dies of COVID-19 at the age of 35. He was hospitalized earlier this month for exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus. Earlier this month on April 6th, the hip-hop artist got admitted to the hospital and was put on a ventilator because he was showing symptoms of Coronavirus. Fred also asked his fans to pray for him on social media as he posted his picture of him on a ventilator.

Fred the Godson’s wife LeeAnn Jemmott got quite emotional when she learned about her husband’s symptoms of Coronavirus and shared her feelings with News 12.

It was just like, he’s gone and he’s gonna die, that’s it. I don’t even know how I felt, I just felt like I was going to die.

Jemmott later shared that Frederick was showing signs of improvement and did not require 100% support from the ventilator. However, rapper Fred the Godson’s death was confirmed on Thursday by his representatives.

Who is Fred the Godson?

The hip-hop artist was born on January 1st and hails from Bronx New York. He became a prominent figure in the music industry after the release of his 2010 mixtape, Armageddon. It featured collaborations with rapper Waka Flocka and Busta Rhymes.

Fred the Godson’s immense success landed his name on the 2011 XXL freshman cover. Notable names of the rap industry like the Late Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Lil B, and YG are also part of the cover alongside him.

Fred’s most recent accomplishment, Training Day, was a collaboration with ex Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah. His solo, Payback, was also released earlier this year.

SNL’s Jay Pharoah was shocked at Fred the Godson’s death and shared his thoughts on Twitter.

Jesus my heart is so heavy right now. Literally just did a project[Training Day] with him in December and he was such a good dude.
