Henry Cavill to Star In the Netflix’s New The Witcher
The Netflix series “The Witcher” will be casting Henry Cavill as the lead role. In other words, he will now be using swords instead of capes.
The Witcher will be streamed as an eight-episode series and will be aired from 209-2020. The series is based on the fantasy novel ‘The Witcher’ by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The series consists of short stories about the witch Geralt of Rivia. And a witch hunter living in solitude where he realizes that people are eviler than beasts. On his way, he meets a young princess with a threatening secret and a sorceress. The three embark on the journey to navigate the Continent together.
The show-runner and executive producer of the show is Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Alik Sakharov also serves as the executive producer of the show. The other two episodes will be directed by Alex Garcia Lopez. And the other two by Charlotte Brandstrom.
The Witcher show is an Inspiration from a Video-game
The show is known to be taking serious inspiration from the famous game The Witcher based on the novel and series. When it was announced that a TV show will be created on the novel, fans were eager to know whether the show would be like the game. When writer, Andrzej Sapkowski, was asked about the similarities between the game and the novel, he said, ‘they would look for their own path’, but he also said, ‘there will be some similarities with CDPR’s take on the White Wolf”.
The start of the season will initiate Henry Cavill’s TV show career since 2010 where he first starred in the famous TV show ‘The Tudors’ as Charles Brandon, the first Duke of Suffolk. But his appearance as Superman in DC Extended Universe in ‘Man of Steel’ (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Justice League (2017) was how he became increasingly famous. His latest work was appearing in Mission: Impossible-Fallout (2018).
Henry Cavill has managed to bag a couple of accolades including the Best Hero at MTV Movie Award (2013). He also has many nominations including the Teen Choice Award in 2013, 2016, and 2018. He’s certainly a fan favorite. Because of his outstanding record so far, Henry Cavill starring as Geralt the witch hunter looks very promising, and the show is sure to get popularity.
