Sony is on a roll with its Spiderverse movies. The first Venom movie managed to exceed expectations. Then, Morbius’ trailer raised our anticipation levels. Moreover, Venom 2 was about to roll into theaters this fall, this time with a famous Marvel villain standing in Tom Hardy’s way! Even though it won’t be releasing this year due to the ongoing pandemic, Sony Pictures plans on keeping us talking about the sequel!

The Sinister Spiderman to Square off against a Deadly Marvel Villain in Venom 2?

If you haven’t watched the first Venom movie, we are about to discuss a major spoiler!

The film in question had a mid-credits scene in which Woody Harrelson’s character undergoes a dark change. He evolves from a serial killer to “Carnage”, a brutal Marvel villain.

So, that scene clearly indicated that Carnage would be coming for the Venom in the anti-hero franchise’s second installment. But it wasn’t until recently when Carnage’s role and significance in the Tom Hardy-starrer were confirmed!

Venom 2 gets a New Title and Release Date!

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, businesses have been shut down temporarily on a global scale. So, most of the big-budget movies slated for release this year have been postponed. Among these movies is the highly anticipated sequel of Venom, which was originally supposed to arrive this October. The film will now be releasing on June 25, 2021.

And in order to keep the fans intrigued, Sony Pictures recently posted a brand new teaser of the film on YouTube. The teaser reveals the new release date along with a “killer” title. So, Venom 2 will now go by… “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”.

If the new title is any indication, there’s no doubt that the Carnage, a sinister Marvel Villain will be responsible for a lot of “carnage” in the flick. Andy Serkis has helmed the project.

Apart from Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams will also be a part of the film.

What did you think of the new title? Do you think Woody Harrelson will do justice to the role of Carnage? Sound off in the comments below!
