Sarah Silverman entertains her neighbors amid pandemic
Sarah Silverman and her assistant, Annie Segel have been taking to their balcony and cheering health workers who have been dealing with COVID-19 on the front line. The forty-nine-year-old Wreck-It Ralph star returned to her balcony again on Sunday at 7 pm during the shift change hours. And along with her assistant cheered on the health workers in New York City.
According to Daily Mail UK, the comedian and her assistant have been in quarantine together. in fact, Sarah shared a photo of Annie and praised her on Saturday night. The photo shows the two playing video games and having fun during the quarantine because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cheering from their balcony
Sarah came out wearing blue denims. And paired them with black tresses and a beanie. Her partner in quarantine wore black sweats paired with a grey graphic t-shirt and a baseball cap. So, both took to the balcony and applauded, cheered, and made news for the emergency workers again this Sunday.
The comedian wrote on her Instagram:
“Everyday at 7 pm in NYC, people open their window or stand on their fire escapes and bang pots and pans and howl and cheer on appreciation for our health care workers, grocery store workers and delivery people.”
The star and her assistant have been urging the public in general to cheer the healthcare workers, grocery people, and delivery people. She said she lives for 7 pm to 7:03 pm. Sarah said it makes her feel alive and together in this with everyone.
She also urged everyone to stay safe, wash their hands, and don’t forget to floss. And the star also played music when the cheering died down last Sunday. But she tried an experiment to bring all the cheering back up.
“Today as the clanging and howling and cheering died down I took a chance and played a song (through my phone into a Bluetooth speaker held up to a toy bullhorn I got online) and what do ya know it got quiet, and then the pots and pans, they were like instruments,’ she said.
