Directioners, get ready! It’s happening! The reunion we’ve all been waiting for is finally happening. That’s right. One Direction is coming back together.
The British boy band, which was formed in 2010, went on to achieve great success in all its years. However, the members took a hiatus in January 2016 to pursue their solo careers. And boy, were their solo careers good. Liam, Harry, Niall and Louis have each had several hits and were pretty successful as solo artists. But as much as directioners loved their tracks, we couldn’t help but wait for this hiatus to end.
And now our prayers have been answered. On an Instagram live with Swedish DJ Alesso, Liam Payne talked about new music. The pair had recently collaborated on a song, “Midnight.”
But fans were more interested in knowing about One Direction. And more importantly, were they reuniting?
These questions from One Direction fans were brought on by suspicious activity the past few weeks. The fans had noticed that Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall and the official One Direction account had started following former band member, Zayn Malik again. This was suspicious since Zayn Malik hasn’t been on good terms with the boys ever since his 2015 exit.
It was also intriguing to notice that Zayn Malik was no longer listed as “ex-member” on Google. And is now back to being listed as “vocals.” Not to mention, the One Direction website was suddenly active again. All this led the fans to think that a reunion was in store for us. One that included Zayn Malik as well.
Liam Payne Spills The Details
So when Liam was bombarded with questions from desperate directioners, he couldn’t help but spill the details.
“Oh my god dude. There are so many One Direction questions,” Alesso said to Liam. “But I feel like I don’t want to put you on the spot because I know you can’t say too much.”
Liam then went on to reveal that he has been FaceTiming with Niall a lot lately. And since most of the boys were in London at the moment, they have been trying to arrange a group FaceTime.
“I can’t say too much. Louis told me off for revealing a bit of our plans the other day, so you’re going to have the group chat telling me off,” he added.

This isn’t the first time Liam Payne has sparked reunion rumors. Last when he told The Sun that he had been in touch with the boys to come up with something for One Direction’s 10-year anniversary. “There’s a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around.”
