Michael Cera wants to do a Scott Pilgrim Sequel
Based on comic books written by Bryan Lee O’Malley, director Edgar Wright gave his audiences a masterpiece and the most innovative comic book movie of all time – Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
The likes of which have not yet been achieved by any modern superhero movies. The movie’s followers have only grown in numbers and admiration since the movie was released. The movie has received a larger audience now especially because so many new streaming services have surfaced. And the movie still continues to inspire its audiences after so many years.
Michael Cera has announced that he plans to do a sequel to the movie whenever that happens. Maybe for no other reason but just to hang out with its’ crew again.
Michael Cera’s take on the sequel
ComicBook ran into Michael Cera and asked him a few questions. They asked him questions like would he be willing to create a sequel to the Scott pilgrim movie again? Or maybe he wouldn’t want to do that because the sequel might not capture its’ audiences like the original movie and lose its magic? Cera replied to all such questions saying:
“For me, that ‘well’ would just mean being around that group again. It was such a great group. Fortunately, we all do get together and it really was like a great band or something and we all loved being around each other and that happens, obviously, less and less, but when the movie was coming out and even a few years after that, we were all hanging out quite a lot.”
The original cast of the movie has gained a lot of respect and a spot in Hollywood. They have all grown into high earning actors of Hollywood. The cast of the movie included Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brie Larson, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Mae Whitman, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, and Ellen Wong.
