Sam Smith wants a One Direction reunion

0 301

One Direction is undoubtedly one of the most famous bands globally. It was the first band in US Billboard history to debut all albums at #1. Moreover, it made millions in record sales and world tours. You could find a Directioner in every corner of the world. However, after Zayn Malik‘s departure in 2015, the band soon went on hiatus. Even after 5 years, fans are still waiting for the One Direction to unite. And nobody wants it more than Sam Smith.

Sam Smith wants a reunion special:

One Direction composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Each artist went to make a career of his own after the band broke up. However, 27-year-old singer Sam Smith thinks it’s long due time that the band members reunite. Considering the coronavirus lockdown, it would be a special treat for Directioners all over the world. Sam said:

They should do it. They should do it soon, instead of when they are sixty years old.

When Sam Smith was asked who his favorite One Direction singer was, he named Niall Horan after thinking for a while:

That’s hard. Well, me and Niall were the closest. And I just love him so much, he’s a beautiful friend to me.

A TV Special for One Direction 10 year anniversary:

One Direction made waves after Liam Payne admitted the boy band was back in touch again. Moreover, he said that they wanted to mark the 10-year anniversary with a “special project”. Fans speculated that the band would finally get together again to release a song. But a TV special seems more viable than a song at this point. Everything is in the early stages of discussion, so things may change with time. A source says:

They are back in touch but talks between them are only about something small to mark the anniversary. They all have their own music ongoing so a reunion right now just wouldn’t make sense.
