Social media is the most powerful tool of the modern age. It can literally make or break careers. Celebrities use it to show off their lifestyles or interact with their fans. However, they often get the short end of the stick. Cyberbullying is a real problem with celebrities. Especially if you have a verified tick, trolls will flock to your account to bring you down. Sam Heughan has been facing the same predicament for the past 6 years, online and in real life.

Sam Heughan speaks out against bullying:

The 39-year-old Outlander actor made his most candid announcement on his Twitter. In a most shocking revelation, Sam Heughan called out everyone who had bullied him for the past years. He finally decided to speak out after it became affected his loved ones:

My costars, friends, family, myself, in fact, anyone I’m associated with, has been subjected to personal slurs, shaming, abuse, death threats, stalking, sharing of private information and vile, false narrative. I’ve never spoken about it because I believe in humanity and have always hoped these bullies would just go away. I can’t elaborate for ongoing legal reasons,” he noted, “but they are professionals: teachers, psychologists, adults who should know better.

Sam Heughan went on to elaborate that these people claimed he manipulated fans, he is a “closeted homosexual”, and he exhorts fans for money. Sam confessed that he was just a”normal guy” and nothing like the characters he played.

Sam Heughan went on to say that he was stuck in Hawaii after all flights were canceled. However, he is in isolation and “not a burden to locals”. He addressed his fans in the end:
