Modern Family ended | What happened to each family
After 10 years of the set, the cast, and the drama, Modern Family has become no less than our own family. The show finally bid farewell and will no longer be on our screens. It was hard to say good-bye, no doubt, and it did not come without tears. Sofía Vergara, Jesse Tyler, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burell, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, and others have their final bow and that is it. However, the ending of the show for some characters came as more of a surprise to us than others. And while some of the cast is shedding tears, cast members like Sarah Hyland are not happy with their character endings. Here is a rundown of how it all ended in the final episode of Modern Family.
How Modern Family ended for each of the families involved
1) The Dunphys
That is one crowded home. And that would be the reason why Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) ask one of their kids to move out. However, due to another one of their family is moving away, they change their mind. But, both Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke Dunphy (Nolan Gould) have both already made plans for their lives outside of the house. Alex has her research team moving to Switzerland! More so, Luke is accepted into the University of Oregon. After a talk with Mitch and Cam, Haley and her partner, Dylan (Reid Ewing) are moving back into their old place. There’s some Modern Family goodness. Along with their adorable baby twins! At this point, Claire and Phil decide it may be time for them to take that cross country trip they’ve always wanted.
2) Gloria Delgado-Pritchett and Jay Pritchett
Jay surprises Gloria that he has learned Spanish! The family along with their little addition, Joe Pritchett (Jeremy Maguire) for a vacation to Columbia. Right before the ending Jay, says to the family, (grab your tissues, fellas!)
Life is full of change. Some big, some small. I learned a long time ago you can fight it or you can try to make the best of it. And that’s all a little easier if you’ve got people who love you helping you face whatever life throws at you.
Oh isn’t the old man adorable! We are going to miss him. Jay really was the life of Modern Family.
Manny (Rico Rodriguez) is also planning his own year-long vacation. Before he can go, Luke asks him about the iconic poem. Whether Manny wrote it for him or not. We almost tear up at Manny’s response.
Don’t you get it? They were all for you.
Oh for heaven’s sake, our tissue boxes are emptying out.
3) Tucker family
Cam and Mitch seem to have their life all perfect already. They adopted their latest child, Rexford and moved on Rexford Street. However, Cam gave up the biggest opportunity to be a football coach in Missouri. Soon, he lets it out on Mitch who realizes, it may be time for him to sacrifice for Cam. So, they decide to move to Missouri. And so, the end of Modern Family began.
All the endings seem pretty fulfilling as the family bid good-bye to one another. The cousins, the friends, the family, it is all over. But, we are excited to see what comes next for the cast members. And, worry not, you can watch the show on ABC’s official website.
