“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA

At the end of March, they officially bid goodbye to the royal life

Initially, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to Canada. However, they have moved on from there and live in Los Angeles. While they plan to launch their own charity foundation named Archewell. This foundation will work on issues related to the environment and children. According to the couple:

“Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of Arche – the Greek word meaning source of action. We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”

Recently, rumors came out that they might be regretting the decision of leaving the royal life behind

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are quarantined in LA, Prince Charles contracted coronavirus. Due to the lock down, Harry could not see his father. This is the reason why some people speculated that the couple might be regretting their decision of moving out of the UK. However, one source close to the couple has denied any such rumors. They do not regret their decision and are staying put. Despite recovering from the virus, the doctors have advised Prince Charles to stay in isolation. Therefore, no one can meet him and would have made no difference even if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were in the UK.
