Sarah Hyland wanted a better ending for Haley in Modern Family
Last week we said Goodbye to 11 years of Modern Family. We have watched them grow and grow with them. The cast of the show are themselves very heartbroken. They are happy about venturing into new projects and with a heavy heart, had bid farewell to their fellow cast members. The show ends with an IMDb rating of 8.4/10. However, amidst all this, there is one character who is bittersweet about her time on Modern Family. Straight out of The Dunphy family, Haley Dunphy thinks she deserved better. Sarah Hyland is the gorgeous actress who plays the role and she has a couple of complaints to Modern Family makers.
Sarah Hyland thinks ‘Haley Dunphy’ deserved better!
Season 11 has not given Sarah Hyland’s character the attention it deserved. Out of all 18 episodes, Haley Dunphy only appears in 10. That is quite the cut. Fans did take notice of this and some of them did not like it. However, Sarah Hyland remained clueless about her absence. In a tweet from some months ago, she said that maybe makers want to show that Haley got busy with her baby twins. P.S. She gave birth to Twins in Season 10 of the show. (Oops! Spoiler.)
While talking to sources at the Cosmopolitan, Sarah reveals that her lack of airtime was disappointing! Furthermore, she thinks Haley should have had a different ending. She thinks her character should not have been left struggling with her twins:
There are so many amazing mothers who are also hard workers and excel in their jobs and kill it every day in both aspects. That would have been a really cool thing to see — especially from Haley.
Hyland expresses how she envisioned Haley to be a Badass Fashionista Mom!
(She envisioned Haley to be) owning her badassery in the fashion world — becoming a badass stylist or brand mogul, or anything like that.
That actually seems like a pretty cool and empowering idea, Sarah. We do agree Haley should have been given a better ending at the end of the show. But oh well, maybe the writers did not pay attention to the detail.
