Nothing sticks around forever, and no matter how earnestly you want something as poignant and beautiful as Schitt’s Creek to stay, there will be a goodbye. Schitt’s Creek, a wholly endearing embodiment of gold-standard comedy, aired its series finale last night. To normalize itself with the mixed roller coaster of emotions surrounding its. ceremonial exit, Schitt’s Creek pulled in the sitcom-wedding trope for its finale. Expectedly, there was an explosive comedic explosion before all threads resolved to something evocative. The Rose family featuring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, .and Annie Murphy, had turned on its nostalgic charm to make the farewell special. But what was even more special was the date when the show ended.

Six years ago on 7th April 2014, the cast and crew had begun shooting for Schitt’s Creek. While the show did not premiere until January 2015, the first day of shoot holds a special place in everyone’s hearts. The makers, therefore, zeroed on the same date for the Schitt’s Creek finale, to preserve a six-year-long legacy that will have no parallel.

Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, and Catherine O’Hara Get Emotional As The Show Ends

The principal cast has mixed emotions about the Schitt’s Creek finale. They have nurtured the show like a child, and watched it grow into a paradigm for nascent comedies.

Lead actor Eugene Levy took to Twitter to thank his colleagues and fans for giving him the wonderful six years of Schitt’s Creek. He also rallied up the show’s audiences to tune into the series finale.

Shortly after his father’s tribute, son Dan Levy stepped in to share a heartfelt letter about Schitt’s Creek end. Dan Levy shed light on the profound, inspiring, and empowering experience of working on Schitt’s Creek, and that too with the most brilliant colleagues. He thanked fans for loving the show, and promised to deliver more laughs in the future.

Annie Murphy and Catherine O’Hara too reflected upon their experiences of working with ‘lovely, smart people’, and called Schitt’s creek a lifetime opportunity. Thankfully for us, we won’t have to miss Murphy and Hara on-screen even after the show ends.

Annie Murphy has already joined AMC’s ‘Kevin Can Go F___ Himself’, while Catherine O’Hara is currently shooting for a Canadian movie, ‘Extinct’.
