As we all know, Larry David isn’t everyone’s cup of cake. The comedian is famous for playing himself exactly as he is in reality. However, he is often active in politics and is a known Bernie supporter. So much so that he even named his dog after Bernie. But, it seems like Larry has “curbed his enthusiasm” towards the Senator. This is because he believes Bernie Sanders should drop out of the Presidential Race!
Larry David talks about Bernie in an interview
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Larry was talking about his life in quarantine. We all know how bitter he can be in real life, but maybe isolation is just what he needs. However, in isolation, he did manage to say some sad words for his dear cousin, Bernie Sanders!
Larry David said that considering how things are going, Bernie should probably quit the Democratic Primaries of 2020. He spoke in his interview:
I feel he should drop out. Because he’s too far behind. He can’t get the nomination. And I think, you know, it’s no time to fool around here. Everybody’s got to support (Joe) Biden.
Moreover, it’s not like Larry David has anything against Bernie. He kind of loves him but understands where the current delegate count in the Democratic Primaries stands. Currently, Joe Biden sits at a strong 1217 delegates, compared to Bernie’s 914. And it looks like Biden will only make his lead stronger over the next few weeks. Moreover, chances are Sanders might not even make it to the Democratic National Convention. That explains why Larry David wasn’t so optimistic over Bernie’s chances of becoming the President.
Bernie is pretty much Larry’s doppelganger now
Even though he sees Bernie failing in the 2020 Presidential race, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t love him. Larry, in fact, is famous for his imitations of Bernie Sanders on SNL. Check it out for yourself!
After all, the resemblance is uncanny. That’s why no one was surprised when everyone found out that the two were cousins. However, had Bernie won, Larry would have had a field day on SNL. So much so that he even said in his interview:
Imagine if he had become president, what would have happened to my life?
It would have indeed been an insane life for Larry David. However, it does break our hearts to see Bernie Sanders falling behind like this. But, he’s still not giving up!
Bernie’s not a quitter
In a recent interview with Whoopi Goldberg, Bernie was quite clear that he has no intention of dropping out right now. He said:
Last I heard, people in a democracy have a right to vote, and they have a right to vote for the agenda that they think can work for America.
Sen. @BernieSanders when asked why he’s staying in the race: "Last I heard, people in a democracy have a right to vote, and they have a right to vote for the agenda that they think can work for America.”

We hope he somehow manages to fight back but for now, it looks like Larry David may have a point.
