We’re pretty sure there aren’t many souls purer than Elton John in Hollywood. And he doesn’t give us any reason to doubt that. Recently, he has now given a donation of $1 million for HIV patients to protect them from Coronavirus. Even in these troubled times, he is not forgetting the people who suffer from HIV/AIDS.

Elton John shows a big heart for HIV Patients

Our Rocketman recently went on Twitter to announce his generous donation for HIV patients who are in danger of contracting COVID-19. He made a $1 million donation through the Elton John AIDS Foundation and said:

For almost 30 years my foundation has prioritized the most vulnerable people to HIV, to end the AIDS epidemic and we’re committed to this during the COVID-19 crisis too.

He further explained how providing drugs, testing, and preventive treatment for HIV patients isn’t as easy as it was before the COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore, Elton John’s established fund will try to help on that, as he mentions in his video:

Our new COVID-19 emergency fund will help frontline partners to prepare for and respond to the pandemic and its effects on HIV prevention and care for the most marginalized communities. We’re with you, we’re thinking of you, we will not leave anyone behind.

These are quite reassuring words from Elton John from millions of people around the world suffering from HIV AIDS. Thanks to treatments, the life expectancy of a patient HIV/AIDS has bumped up to 70. Therefore, it’s crucial that these treatments continue even during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Rocketman has stepped up in this Coronavirus outbreak

As we all know, this isn’t Elton John’s only charitable deed during this pandemic. Recently, he also hosted a Coronavirus relief concert in his living room, with many other Hollywood stars. With these efforts, Elton John is a beacon of hope. He has shown what celebrities need to do in these hard times. We hope everyone follows his footsteps and donates more to the cause of fighting COVID-19.
