Rihanna Doesn’t Like Being On Camera

0 350

Rihanna is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. And no matter how many new pop stars we keep getting, Rihanna will always be first on the list.

And one good news for all of us in these trying times, Rihanna is once again on the cover of British Vogue as their upcoming star. Yay!

This is Rihanna’s 27th time on the cover. I mean, wow. But I guess when you’re her, you have magazines left and right begging for you to be on their cover.

Of course, our queen wouldn’t have just one cover. No, that’s not RiRi. So she has two!

The May 2020 issue of British Vogue was created prior to the pandemic which has subsequently brought the world almost to a halt. In any case, we couldn’t imagine a better cover star than @BadGalRiri, an advocate for tolerance whose rallying cry has redefined every industry she’s turned her hand to, and whose generous spirit saw her make a $5 million donation to fight Covid-19 with her @ClaraLionelFdn earlier this month. In the new issue the multi-hyphenate talks to @AfuaHirsch about her forthcoming album, her desire to become a mother and why she won’t be pinned down. However, in the interview, Rihanna opened up about what she wants her future to look like. She revealed she wants to have three or four kids in the next 10 years. And also dished on her new album that is coming out very soon. (But we’ve all heard that one before.)

But one of the most shocking revelations came when Rihanna revealed she still gets nervous in front of the camera.

Rihanna Admits To Not Liking Cameras

She says it’s always nerve wracking when she has to go somewhere and knows there will be cameras. Before every event, she’s nervous in the car before she goes there.

“It can be devastating,” she said.

She also admitted to having anxiety as she arrives someplace. And before stepping out, has a moment of “crisis breathing” in the car to help calm her down.

Rihanna’s anxiety can get so bad that she pulled out at the last minute in the middle of preparing for a Grammy performance.

“I left the Grammys one time. Left! In the middle of my hair and makeup. My hair half up, half of my lash on,” she said.

“I feel like I have no boundaries. I’ve done everything – I’ve done all the hits, I’ve tried every genre – now I’m just, I’m wide open. I can make anything that I want.” Poised to release a long anticipated new album, and with the continued success of “the Fenty effect”, #Rihanna’s work ethic is akin to a force of nature. In the new issue, the businesswoman tells @AfuaHirsch about managing her work-life balance and how she’s been “aggressively working on music”. Rihanna also revealed that being on camera or being in a room full of celebrities is still not normal for her. I mean, wow. Who knew the celebrity who makes everyone else nervous feels just like that before facing the cameras herself?

Rihanna also prefers to be invisible in public so it’s easier for her to relax. Which is why she likes to hang out with “bougie” people who don’t really care who she is.

About partying with the “fanciest crowds”, she said: “I like it because they’re too bougie to give a shit about me. When I walk into those places, I am invisible. And nothing makes me feel better than being invisible.”
