The Altered Carbon Movie No One Talks About
And it's an anime!
Altered Carbon is one of our favorite shows out there on Netflix. Let’s face it, the first season of the show is one of the finest the streaming giant has ever produced. However, the show also has a film of its own that no one talks about. And it is amazing. The movie’s called Altered Carbon: Resleeved!
An Altered Carbon anime movie?
This film is a unique one, as it’s an anime film, unlike the show. The Altered Carbon movie takes place 1 year after the end of season 1. Takeshi Kovacs, the last envoy, is resleeved by his friend Tanesseda to protect a tattoo artist. Yes, it may sound absurd, but it gets interesting as he encounters a CTAC and the Yakuza Clan. Altered Carbon: Resleeved has hardly a 75-minute run-time, and that makes it an easier watch. Moreover, if you’re well-versed with the events of the season, you’ll have 0 problems in watching the movie.
Is it worth a watch?
Simply put, absolutely! Every Altered Carbon fan must watch this movie.
Firstly, the characters are engaging and have enough depth for you to be engaged in the film. Kovacs is Kovacs, as usual, but Gena from CTAC and the antagonist of the film are engaging too.
Moreover, the plot is compact, yet engaging. As mentioned before, the movie barely has a 75-minute screen time. But, in those 75 minutes, you get action, drama, emotions, and everything you expect from an Altered Carbon movie.
Finally, the graphics of the movie are insane. Yes, it’s an animated film, or an anime, to be specific. But, in this day and age, even cartoons require expert levels of CGI. And this movie delivered incredibly in that department. IGN gave the film a solid 6/10 and said that it’s an incredible watch. The one drawback is that you can’t enjoy the movie properly if you haven’t watched the show. But that can’t be so hard? After all, all you have to do is sign into Netflix and watch the show and the movie.
