Another change that lands into the entertainment world because of coronavirus pandemic is movies getting released digitally. And as all of us continue practicing quarantine and social distancing, the latest movies are now becoming available to us in the comforts of our homes. Many new releases have been made available for us sooner than expected. Onward, Birds of Prey, Invisible Man have already been released digitally. And now even Impractical Jokers: The Movie is coming to our home on April 1st!

Chris Henchy directs the movie based on a reality show that goes by the same name. In the reality show, four friends who are members of a comedy troupe called The Tenderloins, challenge each other. And they challenge one another to pull off public pranks. The release of the movie on the digital platform on April Fool’s day is quite fitting for the plot of the movie. Because the movie pivots around pranks!

Cast in the movie

Same characters from the show cast in its movie version too. The movie stars James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, Joe Gatto, and Sal Vulcano of The Tenderloins.

The team makes an announcement about its release to their fans, saying:

“For all our wonderful fans who’ve been requesting, we’re happy to announce that Impractical Jokers: The Movie will be available in your homes to watch digitally on April 1st. Hoping we can provide some laughs to families and friends at a time when we can all surely use some.”

Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS, & truTV also had bright words to share about the release of the movie, according to Comic Book:

“Impractical Jokers raised the stakes bringing their hijinks to the big screen and we couldn’t be more proud of their impressive box office debut. The unwavering support of their fans prove that this comedy franchise continues to provide endless laughs and entertainment that we are pleased to bring into homes.”

Movie’s plot

The plot of the movie is slightly different from the reality show. Here The Tenderloins are seen in flashbacks from their time together in high school. They then attend a Paula Abdul concert and somehow get inspired to commence their own reality show.
