Girls Trip 2 is officially in the making!
Finally, fans officially get official news their favorite Girls Trip sequel is in the making. Tiffany Haddish, the limelight of the original, Girls Trip has spoken about it. She says that a script for the sequel maybe coming together amid the quarantine lockdown because of coronavirus.
The original Girls Trip hit theaters back in 2017. The comedy movie grossed $140.8 million in the box office worldwide while on a budget of 4.9 million. This was a break through for the comedy genre back in 2017. And the movie also bagged great comments from critics too. And since it made such a big buzz at the box office, fans have been eager for news on its sequel.
The original Girls Trip
The movie revolves around a group of friends namely Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith. The friends meet up for the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans after years. Their reunion over the weekend turns into a series of tummy aching goofy acts. And for which the critics highly appreciated the comedy script and everyone’s acting. Tiffany Haddish stole the show with her snarky acting after which she made a name for herself amongst the list of popular actresses and everyone’s favorite.
About the sequel
While talking to HuffPost, Tiffany said she and other ladies from the Girls Trip have made one call this week. And they are talking about writing a script for the sequel. She also said they will catch up again later this week on “Zoom” and continue their talks for the sequel.
Initially, the work on the sequel fell out because of budget issues. But now Haddish says that the girls are ready to continue on their own. She also said:
“We might decide not to even make it ‘Girls Trip.’ Maybe we’ll do a different story just in case no one wants to make ‘Girls Trip 2.’”
