Notice that the virus which originated in China has just over 81,000 cases. Looking at the situation, most of Hollywood productions have stopped, may it be movies or television shows. Following suit, ABC has also decided to shift schedule for American Idol.
The US singing competition is famous for airing live shows, but due to a ban on large gathering across the country, the channel has made a decision:
“Regarding ‘American Idol’ live shows, we are monitoring the situation and exploring multiple options within statewide guidelines. We will share a production plan as soon as it’s in place.”
ABC will now air a rerun of Celebrity Family Feud on March 30, 8 p.m ET. “20/20” will follow the show, which is a special edition about the coronavirus, with The Good Doctor to come up later. Special episodes of American Idol are put in the schedule for April 12 and April 19 which carry the title “American Idol: This Is Me”.
Shifting of American Idol schedule marks the latest programming shift as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow. Remember people, stay home, stay safe!
