The British Royal Family is also now among those affected by the Coronavirus. According to the latest news from Clarence House, the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles has tested positive for COVID-19!
Official news from the Royal Family
New came out from the Royal family a while ago that Prince Charles has contracted COVID-19. The official statement read that:
He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.
As expected, the immediate family is always in the most danger. However, there was good news for Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall:
The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.
Prince Charles and Camilla, both 71 and 72, belong to the age group that is the most vulnerable to Coronavirus. According to the CDC, anyone above the age of 65 has a 4-11% chance of dying from the disease. This puts the Royal couple in harm’s way. Therefore, self-isolating is the best solution for them right now.
Moreover, Clarence House has also mentioned that it is very difficult to find out who gave Prince Charles the virus. As the statement read, this is due “to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

Prince Charles joins a long list of World leaders affected by Coronavirus
Prince Charles now joins the list of world leaders who have tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus (SARS-CoV2). Earlier, we saw how Canada’s first lady also tested positive, along with an MP from the British Parliament. It’s clear to see that the virus affects the rich and the poor all the same. However, the poor are in need of much more help. This is why community support is crucial in a time of a global pandemic. If we do not stick together with each other in this time of need, then we will not be able to survive!
