Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus (SARS-CoV 2) pandemic, all major world events have been postponed. Similarly, Figure Skating Championship and Olympics have also been canceled. However, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness is not happy about it.

Not only is he a beloved member of Fab 5 of Queer Eye, but Jonathan Van Ness is also a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community

Although he was openly gay and extremely comfortable in his own skin, Jonathan Van Ness had to face bullying in school. While his close friend supported him, he would use humor as a coping mechanism. According to him,

“Growing up I definitely put on every nail polish, every heel, every scarf — I definitely had my mom’s knockoff Hermès scarves in my hair and around my waist — those were my skirts, and I loved it. … But when I was really young, I had really femme-shamey, gender-shamey [reactions] when I would dress like that. When I would play with those things, I knew it needed to be… behind closed doors.”

However, it did not stop Jonathan Van Ness from being himself and pursuing his career as a hairstylist. After getting fame and popularity from Queer Eye, Ness made the brave decision to open up about being HIV positive and surviving sexual assault. In his book, Over the Top, he became vulnerable and shared his experiences of drug addiction. It was his way of encouraging other people and letting them know that they are not alone.

While hair-styling is his forte, Ness is a Figure Skating champion in the making

Last year, he started learning figure skating and gymnastics. Although he always wanted to learn this skill, Ness did not think it was possible to do in his thirties. However, the opportunity came when he was shooting for Queer Eye. In order to keep his fans updated about it, Jonathan Van Ness posts his figure skating videos on Instagram regularly.

Due to coronavirus, the Olympics and Figure Skating Championship have been canceled and Jonathan Van Ness is very upset about it

While the entire world is in a lockdown, all the major events have been canceled or postponed. The decision has been made to stop the spread of the disease. However, people are sad about the news. Similarly, Ness has expressed his disappointment about it. In a tweet, he wrote:

Covid has now messed with the Olympics & World figure skating championships and put everyone at risk fuckkkkkkkkk jsgavajwuwbbskahabsbhdjs

In response to his tweet, his fans also shared his disappointment. However, we can always re-watch Queer Eye to cheer ourselves up.
