The Office Reboot Is Not Happening, Says Office Actor
Like we needed any more bad news.
As fans of the show, it’s safe to say that we haven’t had enough of The Office. Not a day goes by when we don’t miss Michael Scott’s “That’s what she said”, Jim’s pranks on Dwight and Jim flirting with Pam. However, it seems like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that much-awaited The Office reunion. That is according to one of the show’s cast members, Creed Bratton.
Creed Bratton’s not giving us any good news, again
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Creed Bratton from The Office gave the fans some really bad news. Although, to be honest, knowing Creed Bratton, you can never expect any good news coming out from him (Just kidding). Even though he admitted he’d love to readapt the show’s version of Creed, it isn’t as easy as it looks. He said:
Obviously, as an actor, I love playing with those people, and we were a family. We loved each other. Of course, I would love to do it. I don’t see it happening. I just went up a while back and shot this thing called Upload for Greg Daniels up in Vancouver, this sci-fi thing he’s doing, and we were talking about it over dinner, and he said they keep approaching him. He’s not into it, and if Greg’s not into it, I don’t think anyone else would want to be into it.
For those who don’t know, Greg Daniels was one of the writers at The Office. The show owes a lot of its great episodes to him, which is why his refusal to do any The Office reboot is bad news for the fans. However, there can’t be any harm in shooting a simple Christmas special, right?
How about a Christmas Special?
That was John Krasinski’s idea! As we all know, John is busy in a lot of his own initiatives in acting, writing, and production. He has a list of upcoming projects that make this special slightly difficult. Creed told the website:
I think Krasinski had the best idea. He said we should just shoot a Christmas special if we’re going to do it. We get everybody together and shoot the Christmas special for fun. We’d love to do that.
However, Creed was still doubtful about it. Looks like even an Office Christmas Special seems off the books:
I don’t see with everybody scheduled the way they are that we could all get together and shoot continuum. I don’t think it would work. First, we wouldn’t have Steve [Carell]. We wouldn’t have John [Krasinski]. We wouldn’t have Ed [Helms].
And he wasn’t done there. Other cast members for the show seemed doubtful too! He further added.
We wouldn’t have Rainn [Wilson]. We’d be missing so many people, integral parts.
It’s safe to say that an Office reunion doesn’t seem like a possibility. And it’s a bummer, considering recently the idea of an Office Reboot for the Coronavirus went viral over Twitter!
The Office – Coronavirus special?
Even if the fans don’t get a Christmas special, they do deserve at least a Coronavirus special. No one could have foreseen the circumstances of this virus, which makes it perfect for the Office. We wrote previously about how incredible this idea would be for fans of the show. Therefore, let’s hope one of the producers of the show takes this idea of a reboot and gives us a much-wanted Office reunion!
