Final Destination sequel details revealed
Final Destination has made a name in the world of big-screen franchises. It became one of the most successful and popular thriller franchises in 2000. It has made a series of five franchises since then. And they have grossed $656 million at the worldwide box office along with their releases.
This month, the franchise officially turns twenty! And it has been nine years since the release of the fifth movie, Final destination 5 in 2011. Final Destination series creator Jeffrey Reddick and producer, Craig Perry have recently revealed that a new movie in the series is in the pipeline.
In an interview with Digital Spy Reddick explained that the new release will not be a reboot of the series essentially. He said:
“I think ‘reboot’ is probably too strong of a word, it makes it sound like they’re going to change everything, but it’s definitely a Final Destination movie,”
He also continued talking about its’ producer, Craig saying that:
“Craig is the master of coming up with crazy openings and set pieces. He’s told me a couple of things that happen in this one and it’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s not going feel like cash-grab Final Destination film.”
Final destination, movie plot revealed
During the interview, producer Perry explained that the new release in the series will pivot around first responders of any chaos – Like the police, firemen, and EMTs. They are probably the ones who will get chased by death in the movie. He said:
“We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen, and police. These people deal with death on the front lines every day, and make choices that can cause people to live or die.”
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will write for this production. No release date has yet been announced nor a confirmed director for the movie. But, keep an eye out this year for someone getting killed by a mere flipping spoon!
