It has been less than a week since After Hours release and The Weeknd is already winning hearts. Just before the release of his new album, one of The Weekend’s most dedicated fans and host of the XO Podcast passed away. When the Starboy singer got to know about it, he did something truly awesome!
Lance: A Loyal Member of the XO Fanbase!
If you have been a part of the XO fanbase, you should already be aware of Lance. He was one of the biggest fans of The Weeknd. He even hosted the renowned XO podcast and had a number of interactions with his idol over social media.
According to those close to him, he was dealing with mental illness and addiction. He claimed that he found solace in The Weeknd’s songs. What makes this sad situation even worse is that he passed away during the week of After Hour’s release, an album he was eagerly looking forward to listening to.

The Weeknd Reacts to the News of his OG Fan Passing Away
Just a day before the release of his fourth studio album “After Hours”, Abel Tesfaye came across this heartbreaking news. At first, he responded to the news with a “heartbreak” emoji. Then, he tweeted about how much Lance meant to him as a fan. He proceeded by dedicating his new album to his long-time fan. His tweet read,
RIP LANCE aka XOPODCAST. you were one of the true original backbones of my XO fan base. Can’t believe i’m finding out about this today. I’m dedicating After Hours to you, my friend.
