Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick or more popularly remembered as Chuck Bass is ready to return back to television. Previously, he was charged with three cases of rape and sexual assault. But now that all the cases against him are dismissed, Ed Westwick is delighted to return to screens.

Ed Westwick was accused of rape by two women and for sexual assault by a third one. But the actor continually denied any such acts. Despite the first two accusers having identified witnesses, the Los Angeles District Attorney discarded the cases last month. Apparently, the witnesses were unable to provide the information that could take the case beyond the boundaries of just a reasonable doubt. The third woman’s case was not pursued considering her unavailability. A few other women launched complaints that Ed Westwick touched them without their consent. But since the claims were outside the statute of limitations, they were not pursued either.

Talking about the cases for the first time since the court ruled their decision, Ed Westwick announced that he was delighted that everybody got it right. And that he will be returning back to his work very soon.

Ever since the rape and assault claims came out, Ed Westwick has maintained a reasonable profile. When former actress Aurélie Wynn made a Facebook post telling the public about Westwick and her rape, the Gossip Girl star posted a tweet which has now been deleted. He said that these social media claims were disheartening and sad. And that they might lead people to conclude that he was involved in any such horrific acts. Ed Westwick that there was absolutely no truth in the claims. But he was still cooperating with the authorities to help them clear his name as fast as possible.

After the rape and assault claims surfaced, Ed Westwick did had to go through a lot. He was cut out of BBC1’s Ordeal By Innocence. And replaced by Christian Cook. His BBC2 comedy White Gold‘s filming was also paused. But whether the production will resume now that Ed Westwick is cleared of all charges is still not announced.

According to Westwick’s lawyer, people who made quick judgments without checking out the pile of innocence evidence on the actor’s side should hesitate before launching claims against other people in future.
