In order to spread awareness about Coronavirus, Rita Ora teamed up with the UN and WHO

In an Instagram post, Rita Ora shared her campaign where she collaborated with the UN (United Nations) and WHO (World Health Organization). Rita Ora is using fashion to spread awareness and fight the spread of the disease. Together with the Irish singer-songwriter, Sir Bob Geldof, Ora designed a symbol as a reminder of the battle we all need to fight. In her post, Rita Ora said:

Covid-19 is impacting the world in a way none of us could have imagined.
Over the last few months we have watched this virus spread throughout the world not quite understanding its impact. I think by now we all understand that this is something that is having and will continue to have devastating effects on everyone. We all have a part to play in helping to stop the spread.

Thinking about what I can do to try and help, I reached out to Sir Bob Geldof for advice on how best to make any kind of difference. Bob was beyond gracious, as of course he has been the master of mobilising young people all his life. The first idea was to design a symbol to remind us all that we have a battle to fight together. After working on this symbol, I sent it to the @UNFoundation, who helped set up the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation @WHO. I started discussing with them how we could work together, to encourage people to unite to combat as much as we can the spread of this virus. There are simple things we can all do to make a difference. To create as much awareness as we can, we are launching this symbol and an instruction page to offer some guidance from, and with support of the WHO. We have made available some simple merchandise with all proceeds going directly to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. We would love you to buy whatever you can afford or make a small donation, but I wanted you to know that if that is not possible for you even sharing or posting the symbol will help. Please – Stop the Spread. Play Your Part! I love you, Rita x

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is coming together with Emi Jay to ‘feed America’

In her Instagram Live show, Bright Minded: Live With Miley, she announced that she will be teaming up with the brand, Emi Jay to combat hunger in this difficult time. The brand features handmade vintage scrunchies from designers like Dior, Fendi, and Chanel. According to Cyrus, every single dollar from the profit will be going to Feeding America, a network of food banks working to end hunger in America. In an Instagram post, she said:

So many of us are feeling helpless and hopeless! Let’s channel that energy into action!

In the way of spreading awareness about self-isolation and coronavirus, she addressed her younger fans and said:

“To the young people still engaging in spring break, I am not one to ever take pleasure in telling y’all to stop partying … I cannot wait until you can get back to turning up, but partying and drinking is not responsible. We first heard [the virus] would affect the elderly … but we’re getting new info daily. Plenty of people are at risk. Be safe and distant yourself from society, please. I will let you know when it’s safe to turn up again.”

Although the situation is terrifying, we all have to stand together to deal with it. It’s inspirational to see the efforts Miley Cyrus and Rita Ora are making.
