A Japenese flu drug “Avigan” has shown positive results in curing COVID-19 coronavirus (SARS-CoV2). According to a few reports from Japenese media, Japan is using this drug to cure Coronavirus only if it diagnosed in early stages.

Coronavirus cure working for some patients

Doctors in Japan are using “Avigan” on Coronavirus patients to understand its clinical effects. And they have come to this conclusion that the medicine works best in less severe symptoms.

A source from the Japanese Health Department explained this Coronavirus cure:

“We have given Avigan to 70-80 people, but it doesn’t seem to work that well when the virus has already multiplied”.

The same restrictions involve in treating AIDS and HIV. Back in 2016, The Japanese Government also supplied the active ingredient Favipiravir (which is used in making the anti-flu medicine known as Avigan) to battle with the Ebola hemorrhagic virus in Guinea.

Medical Departments Talk About The Avigan Drug

Some medical departments from China explained they have tested Avigan on more than 300 patients and found very positive results. The drug speedily improves several lung conditions and shortens the recovery time in patients.

Some patients of COVID-19 coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) in Wuhan recovered from the virus in 4 day period. Lung X-rays confirmed vast changes in more than 90% of patients. The pharmaceutical company “Fujifilm Toyama Chemical” developed the “Avigan” drug in 2014.

An official from China’s science and technology ministry, Zhang Xinmin shared on Tuesday, that the drug has produced inspiring results.

“It has a high degree of safety and is clearly effective in treatment”.

More than 300 patients In Shenzhen and Wuhan have developed positive changes from the Avigan(favipiravir).

It’s not as effective for patients with severe symptoms

A newspaper source in Japan explained that the drug was less effective in patients with extreme symptoms.

Some health officials mentioned that the Avigan drug can’t be used as a counter medicine to treat coronavirus. Unless the Government approves it first.

The 83-year-old Chinese Government Senior Medical Adviser, Zhong Nanshan, said during a press conference on Thursday

“If all countries could get mobilized, it could be over by June. My estimate of June is based on scenarios that all countries take positive measures. But if some countries do not treat the infectiousness and harmfulness seriously, and intervene strongly, it would last longer”

Zhong further added:

“My advice is calling for all countries to follow WHO instructions and intervene on a national scale”.

The deadly coronavirus has now spread in more than 115 countries. And the number of cases around the world is increasing hourly.

We can contain the COVID-19 virus only if the citizens and patients from all around the world follow the WHO’s instructions properly. Let’s hope we find a coronavirus cure for all cases of the Coronavirus.
