Peaky Blinders Season 6 Production Stops Due To Coronavirus Fears
Another one bites the dust! As coronavirus continues to strengthen its grip around the globe, another upcoming television show halts production. With Cillian Murphy in the lead role, Peaky Blinders season 6 is one of the most awaited shows. Unfortunately, we might have to wait a little longer for its release. The showrunners have decided to pause the production so that crew members and the cast can stay safe in these terrible times.
Peaky Blinders Season 6 Delayed?
Peaky Blinders season 6 has shut down its production due to the coronavirus. With Steve Knight working on the show since 2013, Peaky Blinders take place in Birmingham, England, several months after the First World War. The story revolves around a gang who call themselves the Peaky Blinders. Slowly working their way to the top of the UK food chain, Thomas Shelby heads the family business. In the final events of the previous season, we see how Oswald Mosely (Sam Claflin), becomes the face of Fascism in Britain and forms his own movement. In an attempt to assassinate him by making it look like a brawl between supporters, Thomas fails badly and loses his dear friend Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen).
Fans of the show are now desperately waiting for the next season which will most likely put an end to the fascist uprising in the UK. Something that Winston Churchill (Andy Nyman) does not want. Unfortunately, with the productions coming to a pause, there is no telling when it will resume. As time is lost in waiting for the virus to pass away, it will take equally long for release. Peaky Blinders season 6 might have stopped production, but we can luckily binge-watch from the start using Netflix.
With the TV show landing, several complimenting reviews and a few awards along its way, the show’s previous season finale was viewed by 7.3 million in the UK alone. Season 6 of Peaky Blinders will definitely be worth the wait.
