The Matrix 4 Production Also Stops Due To Coronavirus
It looks like all the movies are closing down their production, this time Warner Bros announcing for their movie as well. The Matrix 4 production will also cease as the coronavirus pandemic grips the whole world in fear. In just this past week, several production studios have closed down in efforts to protect the staff and everyone around. The new coronavirus has taken more than 8000 lives with over 200,000 confirmed cases. As Europe becomes the new center of the virus, Italy and Spain alone have registered around 45,000 cases.
Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix 4 Stops Production
Filming of The Matrix 4 was taking place in Berlin, Germany. Now resuming at a later date, thankfully none of the crew members or film’s cast tested positive for the coronavirus. However, that does not mean that precaution must not be taken. Warner Bros is ready to delay their movie in an effort to reduce the risk of exposure.
Starring Keanu Reeves, Neil Patrick Harris, Carrie Ann Moss, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, this is the latest Warner Bros project to get suspended. Before this, last week the production suspended The Batman, which is starring Robert Pattinson as the dark knight. While the DC movie has been suspended for at least two weeks, Fantastic Beasts 3 had to begin production a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, they will have to wait until the dust settles down.
The Matrix and its sequels have collected over $ 1.6 billion worldwide. With so much profit, it was only fair to bring back Neo and Trinity, characters that have been in the limelight in all three movies. Lana and Lilly Wachowski directed all three movies. Lana will now direct The Matrix 4, releasing in 2021.
As the movie was filming in Germany, the country is not having any better luck from the rest of Europe. Germany has registered 11,000 cases for the coronavirus. They recently announced around 2000 new cases. 27 people have already died because of the virus.
