A Quiet Place is a mystery/thriller movie that did amazingly well at the box office. Ranking in at 8.4/10 on IMDB and a whopping 95% at Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski in lead roles, it is also the movie that established director John as a rising talent.
After the success of the first movie, it wasn’t long until a sequel was announced. Or a prequel judging by the story. The film was all set to release today, Mar. 18 by Paramount Pictures. That is, until the release was postponed amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic that brought all the world’s activities to a halt.
Emily Blunt, lead actor for both the films, recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the upcoming movie.
Emily Blunt On A Quiet Place II
When Jimmy Kimmel asked Emily Blunt how the New York Premiere of the film went, she only had positive words. She shared it was the first time seeing it with an audience so it was fun to see them jumping at the scary scenes. Jimmy chimed in, appreciating how amazing the movie is. Especially since it’s a sequel. Those are harder to follow since there’s an expectation to live up to. Emily revealed that is why she and John didn’t even want to entertain the thought of a sequel at first. But then John pitched the opening of the movie to her which was amazing and she was on board then.
Emily Blunt revealed John had worked on the opening scene first before pitching it to her. After which he was like, it’s amazing and you’d be an idiot to not be in it. Emily and Jimmy then joked about how if she had said no, John would have had to recast the lead role.
Jimmy then asked Emily whether it’s still as scary when you’re in a horror movie as it is when you’re just watching it. To which she replied, it is. Although they know where the scares are coming from, it can still make them jump.
