Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have always been the darling couple in Hollywood. They’re sexy, funny, and are in love with each other beyond words. Simply said, you only ever get good vibes from them. However, there is more to them than just that. They also actively donate for charity, and that’s what they did now amid the CoronaVirus crisis. What’s more, is that this time, they’ll be donating to combat hunger among the needy!
Announcing the charity on Instagram
The couple announced their intentions to donate on Instagram. But they didn’t forget to give their posts a touch of humor. After all, that’s the most adorable thing about them, isn’t it?
The couple announced that they’ll be donating to Food Banks Canada and Feeding America. These are non-profit food organizations that serve the hungry across Canada and the United States. Moreover, this is really helpful, especially amid the CoronaVirus global pandemic. This virus has especially affected low-income families and the homeless. Therefore, the couple announced that they’ll donate and split $1 million between these two charities.
This, however, still didn’t stop Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds from displaying their casual sense of humor. At the end of her post, Lively said:
Now can someone please tell Ryan that ’emotional distancing’ from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him.
Similarly, Ryan Reynolds couldn’t resist cracking a joke either. His joke was directed at Hugh Jackman and their friendly feud on social media. While talking about how we should call someone and stay in touch with those in isolation, he said:
(Hugh Jackman’s # is 1-555-[single tear emoji]-Hugh)
That’s typical of Ryan Reynolds if we’re being honest. But, the couple also shared some really positive messages in their posts.
The need for staying in touch during social distancing
In this day and age, we’re very aware of how important mental health is. It isn’t easy to be isolated at a time when COVID-19 is causing panic all around the world. Therefore, both Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds shared some really positive messages in their posts. Blake said:
Remember the lonely and isolated. Facetime, Skype, make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all this. Communities are stepping up – shopping for the elderly, making lunches for children. We can all do something for one another, even if that’s simply staying home.
Similarly, Ryan Reynolds also shared some positive messages, saying:
Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.
This is the kind of togetherness that the world needs right now amid the CoronaVirus. Yes, we might be far away from each other. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be in touch. We should try as best as we can to talk, and lift each other’s morales. Adding to that, we should also take care of the community by at least donating. The low-income families, hungry, and homeless need our help the most right now.
