It’s been seven years since we last heard from our favorite branch of Dunder Mifflin in Scranton. The Office really rocked the world of Sitcoms, and people binge-watch it even today. But, what would a Coronavirus special of The Office look like? Imagine for a second how your favorite characters from the show would have reacted to COVID-19. So, let’s take a look!
It all starts with a viral tweet…
A few days ago, @the_real_bnell tweeted about this very idea. Because it was so good and original, it went insanely viral with over 104k retweets…
Creed is somehow Patient Zero
Stanley is on a beach with a margarita as a video conference begins
Andy looked at WebMD & is now losing his mind
The episode ends with Michael shopping alone at Costco on a Saturday. He’s excited because he usually “can’t even get in the door”

The OP wrote this thread with a lot of love and care for the characters. I mean, it’s unreal how accurate he is. Luckily, he was joined in by some just as dedicated fans, and they gave some hilarious concepts! @Writelikemike wrote how Dwight would bring up his immunity system and Michael would effortlessly start a fight with Toby.

Speaking of Michael…
What would Michael do?
The possibilities of what Michael Scott would do in a Coronavirus outbreak are just endless! But he would certainly pick a fight with Toby Flenderson. Here’s @milechalecha in the replies with his take!
Michael proceeds to demonstrate how to properly wash their hands doing it fast, forgetting about the soap and finally drying his hands by brushing on his pants. After complaints, he says it all doesn't really matter cause he's young and eats flinstone vitamins every 15 minutes

These fans really love and know Michael to well to be this accurate about him. But once we add Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly, Dwight Schrute and the rest into the mix, things get spicier!
Jim and Pam would definitely pick on Dwight
Again, in the replies, a fan @emilybourassa perfectly predicted one of Jim’s pranks on Dwight.
Jim pretends to have it and "infects" Dwight

But again, you can always expect something really stupid from Dwight. As pointed out by @DJZeeti in here:
Dwight aould bring an actual infected person to the office to show them what signs/symptoms to look out for

Reddit jumps in!
Now, how can you expect Reddit to stay away from such a fun topic? Consequently, fans in the r/DunderMifflin thread rallied behind the original tweet and added some hilarious ideas of their own. For instance, this is exactly how Kelly would behave around Ryan in such a situation. Moreover, Dwight would definitely quarantine the office if he barely saw anyone cough.
But that’s not all. If you add Erin, Meredith, Andy, and Oscar to the mix, it gives the episode a whole new dynamic.
Even though it’s been 7 years since The Office ended, fans still haven’t gotten over the show. If there ever is an Office reunion, this has to be the theme of the show. These fans know the characters so well, that they can easily qualify as writers.
Coronavirus is still a major concern all around the world. So much so that COVID-19 has now been declared a global pandemic by the WHO. However, there’s no harm in some art that it could help in producing. It has already caused a lot of damage to Hollywood. Maybe a light-hearted adaptation could help the people live a few moments of joy in these troubled times.
